TIRRC Votes is seeking a dynamic, fast learning organizer to spearhead voter registration, base building, and political organizing across Davidson County, with a focus on neighborhoods in North Nashville. The lead organizer will be responsible for executing parts of our strategy to engage immigrant and refugee communities in voter registration and elections.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Mobilize voters, volunteers, and community members to encourage them to vote, invite members and supporters to virtual events and webinars, and answer questions from potential voters
● Create and implement organizational voter registration events in Davidson County;
● Collect and compile stories of first and second generation immigrant and refugee voters to share via social media;
● Create multilingual spaces and education opportunities about relevant policy changes, campaigns, and services to various community groups for immigrant and refugee voters across the state;
● Recruit supporters, prospective volunteers and share information about TIRRC Votes in various places such as online or virtual community meetings and events
● Support the execution of organization wide events such as the candidate forum
● Represent the organization as a spokesperson in multiple ways such as attending various outdoor community events to represent the organization or in traditional, ethnic, or social media as needed
● Recruit, train, and prepare individual and organizational volunteers to phone bank and canvass for Congressional District 7 special election in areas across North Nashville for the general elections on December 2.
● Enter data and contacts into organizational databases;
● Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Belief in TIRRC Votes’ mission and commitment to social justice;
● Familiarity with Davidson County preferred;
● Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse communities;
● Strong computer skills; experience with VAN, MiniVAN, EveryAction, Spoke, ThruText, and Mobilize preferred;
● Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment;
● Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends with possibility of travel;
● Fluency in English required and another language preferred;
● Must be able to drive themselves and others to and from destinations across Davidson County.
Part-Time Temporary position, 30 hours/week with an end date of December 31, 2025
WAGE AND BENEFITS: Hourly Rate: $29/hour for 30 hours/week
