The Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) Coordinator Internship is a role designed to serve as support for FUTURO, Inc, a nonprofit in Middle Tennessee. The role will provide assistance to the organization to serve as a liaison between FUTURO, TIRRC, and the community, aligning with FUTURO’s pillar to serve.
This role will assist with programming, community building, and providing education on civic engagement in the form of voter education, information, registration, and creating voting plans. This role will also do outreach* and education with FUTURO constituents to ensure that they can access information on education and awareness of local, state, and national policies and laws that show how they are affected by voter participation and civic engagement available to them. (*May be select counties only)
The CCE Coordinator Intern will report on student civic engagement trends, behaviors, and activities. The role will assist FUTURO with organizing programming, projects, and connect the FUTURO community and students throughout the fall semester. The CCE Coordinator Intern will work to expand the FUTURO network to build a more cohesive group to support the FUTURO mission to Lead.Serve.Connect.
The intern will serve FUTURO students and alumni by informing them on how to stay actively involved in civic matters as well as be an advocate and provide voter educational content, information on the value of civic engagement and help register United States Citizens to vote for local, state, and government elections. This role will not provide legal advice and will serve as a nonpartisan aid in understanding the role voters play in elections. The Civic and Community Engagement Coordinator role is grant funded and will run August 3rd, 2026 through November 13th, 2026.
The role will assist in attending community partner events, student meetings, and events to represent FUTURO including visit select FUTURO campuses in Middle Tennessee.
