Caterpillar Financial- Social Media Strategist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Caterpillar’s Global Construction and Infrastructure (GCI) division is looking for a Marketing Consultant with a focus in Social Media Strategy. This role will be responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive and collaborative social media strategy for North America. In addition, this role will be asked to help lead the development of a global framework for social media strategy. Finally, this individual will be responsible for the exploration, strategy development and execution of promoting GCI products and technologies through public relations tactics and channels. JOB PURPOSE:

The Social Media Consultant is primarily responsible for developing and directing the overall planning, management, coordination, and execution of social strategy and content for the Construction Industry (CI). Your focus will be on promoting GCI prime product and technologies and building brand relevance by planning and strategizing social media campaigns that increase engagement and inspire action. A deep understanding of each social channel and why/how different target audiences use them, as well as knowing how to translate the brand’s positioning is critical. Knowledge of social planning and scheduling platforms such as Khoros, Percolate, Brandwatch, and Meta Business Suite are desired. A new component to this role will be the exploration and promotion of GCI products through new PR opportunities and partnerships.

JOB DUTIES:

• Define content strategy, goals, and objectives across all social channels / executive and optimize
• Manage content schedule and use data to understand relevant topics
• Oversee the creative development and production of social media content. Be accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensure they align with social media objectives
• Lead the creation of conceptual ideas and develop new social content that increases engagement and initiate action
• Provide input into marketing strategies from a social perspective, staying on top of trends and communicating trends to appropriate teams. Apply insights to social strategy and ensure strategies are supported through social media
• Support regional marketers with guidance and direction on content type, strategy, and ideation
• Participate in long term business unit planning and assist with global deployment of vision
• Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams including other Caterpillar business units, marketing, communications and subject matter experts on strategy, ideation, and creation of new content for real-time engagement opportunities
• Oversee audience research and reporting. Understand the audiences to ensure the brand is showing up authentically across channels. Formulate reports and presentations that tell a clear story to internal stakeholders and senior leaders
• Collaborate with team to improve operational processes, tools, and resources that will lead to high-quality design and creative output across social channels
• Create strategy and define goals and objectives for influencer programs, while managing influencer content creation and program execution
• Work with partners to explore and establish a new PR strategy outside of Trade Press that will increase Caterpillar’s presence and invoke interest and attention to products and solutions

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Requirements

• A degree from an accredited college or university and 8+ years of full-time experience in marketing, public relations, or advertising
• Strong knowledge of and experience with social media in a professional capacity
• Deep familiarity and working experience with social media management tools

Preferred Skills

• Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with multiple business partners to achieve business goals
• Demonstrated knowledge in digital storytelling, editing and production.
• Experience in Khoros, Percolate, Brandwatch, and Meta Business Suite
• Strong writing/ copy editing skills
• Photography / videography experience
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and be nimble
• Knowledge and experience with websites, podcasts, and other new media
• Industry experience
